Arden Charles Knepper

Arden Kenpper, 88, was born on a farm in Badger, Minnesota one of twelve children. When he was 14 years old his father died and part of the family moved to Portland. In 1950 he graduated from Benson Tech High School. He was stationed at Ladd Air Force Base, Alaska with the 142nd during the Korean War. Arden lived on Mt. Scott in Happy Valley for 59 years in the home he and his wife Joyce built.
In 1956 Arden and his brother Eddie went into partnership in a service station. Two years later they purchased Crown Home Heating Oil Co.
Arden loved and collected cars from the early 1900’s to Porsches. He was active in the Horseless Carriage Club. He enjoyed traveling and camping with the Milwaukie Elks RV Club and spent many winters in Arizona and Mexico. In 1999 he purchased a winter home in Indio, CA. He was also a member of the Masons Washington Lodge #46. Over the years, he made many wonderful friends.
Arden struggled with vascular Parkinson’s for several years. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce, son Steven, grandchildren Grant and Hannah and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Paula and his eleven siblings.
A celebration of life will be held at the monarch Hotel in Clackamas on April 20th at 2:00pm.
