Donald Allen Fogle
Date of birth: February 15 1943
Date of death: August 12 2019
Donald Allen Fogle was born February 15, 1943 in Bozeman, Montana to parents Lester Fogle and Mary Hoffman Fogle. He passed away peacefully after a long illness on August 12, 2019 in Oregon City, Oregon.
Don served in the US Navy as a medical corpsman in Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, California; in Vietnam; and onboard a retiring naval ship on a goodwill tour of several Asian ports. After he left the Navy, he held various jobs including owning a seamless rain gutter business; service manager for Rolfe and Wood in Bozeman; trucking, hauling specialized heavy equipment; and teaching at trade schools in Phoenix, Arizona and Portland, Oregon. He retired from a position as Director of a truck driving school and examiner for the State of Oregon CDL exam. He was proud of the fact that he helped many of his students start a steady financially-rewarding career and had many students come back to thank him after leaving his school.
Don married Joy Daems of Ennis, Montana in 1965; they were later divorced. In 1984, he met and married Jana Brown Lube in Casper, Wyoming. They have been married for 35 years.
He was a kind and caring man, always observant and quick to provide assistance or comfort to someone in need. He doted on his family including his sisters Rosetta (Howard) Barrick, Bozeman, MT and Yvonne (Dave) Hinman, Malta, MT. Uncle Don was “that uncle” that provided the noisy, fun toys and activities that might be just a little over the top to LaDeen (Paul) Arthun, Manhattan, MT; Jill (Dave) Hamilton, Three Forks, MT;Heidi (Billy) Lulloff, Malta, MT; Rod (Carrie) Barrick, Bozeman, MT; and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Don loved the outdoors especially fishing and hunting; his 70+ pound salmon hangs proudly over their mantle at home. Don and Jana were fortunate to spend many happy years RVing with their local Good Sam chapter, the 79ers of Portland, Oregon. They were able to go on RV caravans to Alaska and Washington State/Vancouver Island, BC and take their own long distance RV trips, building great memories.
He loved dancing, a good card game, and entertaining in his home. He was happiest surrounded by friends and family. A family memorial will be held in Montana at a later date.
