They were devoted to each other for almost 36 years.

When Mike met Beverly he was attending Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland, Oregon. After marriage they visited the coast and mountains of the Pacific Northwest. His favorite place of employment was Crosspoint Northwest in Milwaukie, Oregon since September 2010. He was working there after the diagnosis of thyroid cancer when he left on leave unable to continue his duties. He died at home after 4 months of hospice care at the age of 62.

He gave his life to Jesus and became a Christian at an early age in a Nazarene Church. He joined an Assembly of God church in 1983 where he met Beverly. He taught Sunday School and was the Children’s Church Pastor, drove the church van and worked as a janitor, participated in fundraisers and helped with groundskeeping. He volunteered in his grandchildren’s school classrooms when able, liked to study the Bible and did extensive reading, He enjoyed Jeopardy because he was very good at trivia. He liked movies with superheroes, science fiction and suspense. He had a quirky sense of humor and made many people laugh and smile throughout his life. The coast of Oregon was his favorite place to visit. Tigers were his favorite animal but the house cats were his pets.
