Kathleen Adele Jensen passed away on October 29, 2019 in Portland, Oregon.Born on July 23, 1949 in Seattle, Washington to parents Laura Swain Tabbutt and Kenneth Lattin Tabbutt. She grew up in Burien and moved to Kent in high school and graduated from Kent Meridian High School and then went on to Western Washington University and graduated with a teaching degree.

After graduation she did missionary work in Columbia, South America and Papua New Guinea. She married Joel Jensen in March 1975. He preceded her in death in January 1981.

She lived in Kent, Washington for a time and then moved to Vancouver, Washington. She learned to fly and bought her own plane while in Kent and continued to fly for several years.

She taught Kindergarten while in Kent and went on to teach in the Vancouver and Portland areas.She retired from teaching and began working for Horizon Airlines out of Portland as a gate agent. She then retired from Horizon and became involved in Lahash International and other volunteer organizations. She attended Church of the Messiah in Portland, Oregon where she taught and served the Lord with many new friends.

Kathy is survived by sisters Laurene Shrauner (Val), Marsha Hobbs (Paul) and a brother Ken (Vilma), and sister-in-laws Julie Johnson (Dale) and Jodi Tiefel (Joel). She is also survived by nieces and nephew, Anne Shrauner, Ryan Shrauner, William Hobbs, Amy Hobbs, Eric Johnson, Elisa Crawford, John Tiefel and Aaron Tabbutt. She leaves behind many family members who were very dear to her, as well as a host of dear and devoted friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 9, 2019 at 1:30 at Church of the Messiah in Portland. They meet at the Powellhurst Baptist Church, 3435 SE 112th Ave in Portland 97266.

Kathy's graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 2:00 pm. The location is Washington Memorial Park Cemetery. Address is 16445 International Blvd., Seatac, WA 98188.

In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Church of the Messiah or the American Cancer Society – Leukemia Research, or the charity of your choice.
